  9. Question: Do any of you know how to translate the name Wayne into Latin? If so, could you email it to me? I’m at a loss for where to look.

  10. Many thanks, LanguageHat, for adding to the pleasures of life once again.

  11. Jesse: Wayne is simply an alternate form of the word wain = wagon, so you might use Plaustrum as a Latin equivalent (plaustrum being a Latin word for ‘wagon’).

  12. marie-lucie says:

If Wayne is the name of a man, and you want to address him in Latin, his name would be more likely to be tha masculine form Plaustrus, and in addressing him you would say Plaustre!

  13. How about ‘Waynus’?

  14. Per Jørgensen says:

Nu ask i grener nødig grønnes, ei stedets skrudde Lorem lønnes.

  15. How about ‘Waynus’?
    Spelled “Venus,” one presumes.

  16. How about ‘Waynus’?
Alternatives, using other words for waggon:
Karol (Charles, Karl, etc.) from carrus.
    (Carol, for a female waggon.)
(Sarah, for a female waggon, from sarracum.)
Vector, from vehiculum, through vecturarius, a waggoner who uses a vehiculum.
    (Vectoria, for a female waggon.)
Can’t make anything from plostellum, diminutive of plaustrum. See Horace: “plostello adjungere mures” (“to harness mice to a waggon”).

  17. Funny I just now used “lorem” for some filler:
