Mark Liberman at Language Log has alerted the world to the appearance of Semantic Compositions, whose aim is “to expose and hopefully popularize some of the ideas to come out of theoretical and applied linguistics, as well as related disciplines like computer science and psychology.” While the author was mistaken in his initial assumption that he was striking out into uncharted territory in creating a linguistics blog, it’s good to have a fellow traveler in these realms.   1. Hey, there isn’t much new under this sun or any other. I think I am the entire population of language bloggers who write entirely in Klingon, but I have a narrower audience.
