An impressive gallery of the many and varied ways Japanese give typographical expression to emotions (“Looking uncomfotable and he wants to leave”), personalities (“Am I pretty?”), actions (“Two people holding glasses and saying ‘Cherrs’ Giving a toast”), and existential states (“Someone wearing sunglasses and with a scar on his face, so he is…who?”). It’s interesting to me that some of these use characters that aren’t just ascii, so I couldn’t duplicate them.
